Welcome to Off Grid Sweden a Swedish Homestead. This channel is all about off grid living, modern homesteading and prepping.
One of my main goals is to live a more sustainable way of life by changing my lifestyle little by little.
Me and my family got a "urban homestead" and a real homestead out on the countryside.
I do these videos because I love to do them and hopefully you will like them to. I have no background in video production and editing, I´m learning and evolving as I go and I hope we can do that together.
So take a look at my videos, subscribe and I´ll see you in the coments.

Ok...a video about the stove function...but not a single word about it's main selling point: the generating electricity part. I would have wanted to know how long it takes for example to generate enough electricity to fully charge a smart phone. THAT would have been the single interesting thing about a review of this product. Cause if i merely want a stove to cook water in above a fire, i'll just use a steel can, cut a hole into it, effectively turning it into a mini-chimney, burn twings in it and put another can on top of it for the water to boil in - best of it all: that way i only pay for whatever food was in the cans and get the stove and water vessel basically for free 😏
@mugenjin8158 Look at part 2. Its only about the generation of electricity. Have a great Tuesday.
Wonderful stoves untill the battery gives up. Biolite is no help
@@tomlambert1833 Thats too bad. I had mine for 5 years now and it still works like a charm. Never had to contact their support. Maybe I should open it up and make a video on how to change battery. Its probably really simple. Have an amazing Thursday.
@@offgridsweden mine probably 10 or 12 years old.
Very enjoyable 'vid', you explained the technical data very well to a 'not-so-technical-man'... Thanks
Thank you, have an amazing Thursday!
Do you still have this sawmill setup?
Yes, still have it and still use it.
how much does the fan sounds?

Underbart.❤❤❤❤❤
You are'nt publishing any more UA-cam videos? I have not seen anything in awhile - missing those videos...
Great simle designe
I got one for Christmas. I like it as an option in my car for the case Im out of gas and for hikkng instead of a gas stove. I think the weight is about equal to a gas cartridge. And at home it could be usefull in case of black out or natural desasters. Cheers.
That's awesome. Had mine for many years now, and it still works like a charm. Have an amazing Tuesday and Merry Christmas to you!
@@offgridsweden Thank you. Merry Christmas to you too. 🙏🙏🎄🎄
All the way to Sweden? I can get to their main store at Tyresö in just one hour 😂 (lives north of Stockholm City and Tyresö is just south of the City)
So, my question is wether even a blue flame from gas could be used to generate electricity with this? Would it be just a matter of applying to the rod? This obviously is more brilliant as a concept for not requiring such a method but at the same time, if someone simply lost electricity in their apartment not due to a natural disaster, but because they couldn’t afford the bill, maybe due to job loss, than they probably would not have a good enough excuse to burn wood in the apartment but could probably get away with a blue flame. I am curious….
Hi, That would work. It's a peltier element that is converting the heat into electricity. Just be careful, a blue flame from gas can be very hot and might in i some cases damage the element. Thanks for watching, and have an amazing Sunday.
Tack <3
Where did you get those concrete blocks from?
Thank you very much for watching. I bought them at the Swedish store Byggmax.se. Have an amazing wednesday

So will these be like cucumbers or pickles?
Hi, they are like pickles. Thanks for watching and have an awesome week
Thank you for posting this. We are in the middle of trying to build a greenhouse from the greenhouse people. The instructions are rubbish. Thanks to your video we have more idea about what we should do. Great job.
Sounds great that you are building a greenhouse and that you got some ideas from the videos. Thank you very much for watching. Have an amazing weekend!
I am in Maine, recently bought the F2+ When I went to buy the Schiller fuel injected saw they told me , and correctly, that science I have had shoulder surgery , I would not be able to pull start any saw over 50cc. I tried it. They were right. I asked if I could start the Stihl fuel injected using both hands..they said no. But it appears that the F2+. Is stable enough so that I could start the saw.. using both hands to pull the cord How can I get an electric saw and what is the cost? I have relatives in Sweden
Hi, you could get a Logosol ES8 at Logosol.com. it will set you back 2300 eur. But that is an amazing saw. Have an awesome week.
You said your going to show step by step but you did not.
How do you find those tires in the snow? Do you ever lose traction when plowing?
Hi and thanks for watching. Its probably not the best tires for plowing but I never had an issue with them. Never lost traction. Have an amazing Tuesday.
Where exactly do you grease the outer collar/slewing ring bearing ? . Good explanatory video otherwise.
So, he went off grid for real and disappeared??
Hi, I'm still around, but I havent uploaded for a long while now. Hopefully I will be able to upload soon again. Have an amazing Thursday.
Good luck with everything..

@offgridsweden omg wow thank you so much for replying ! You defiantly put a smile on my face when I seen this thanks so much! I hope you have N amazing day as well! It was a beautiful spring day here in nova scotia! 😀
this shit costs a shitton of cash compared to how useful it is. much better to just buy a real bandsaw mill instead because this is so expensive anyway.
I would love to have a bandsaw mill. The cheepest bandsaw mill I can find costs at last 4 times as much as I paid for my chainsaw mill, and I would have a hard time sharpening those bandsaw blades. This solution works good for me. Have an amazing Thursday man!
Thank you for sharing am from Yap Island in Micronesia
I was wondering what ever became of you. Have not seen or heard from you in quite some time. Hope all is well.
Hi Jerry, a lot of things happened. Both good and bad. I havent given up on making videos. I will be back with new ones on the channel. I will make a video in the future on why I decided to stop making videos for a while and why that while became a long while. One of the things was that my son got diagnosed with autism so I have spent a lot of time helping him with school and life. But more on all that in an upcoming video. Havent had so much time for watching YT either. How is everything going at the farm? Have an amazing Tuesday and talk to you soon.
@@offgridsweden So good to hear from you buddy. Sorry to hear of your son. You all will adapt brilliantly. We moved my mother in law in. She has dementia. I became her caregiver. Keeping me busy as well as the farm and additional episodes for Discovery Channel. Look forward to seeing more from you. Take care.
Did you give up on UA-cam?
Hi, I havent given up. I had to shift focus for several reasons. Its been a long while sins I uploaded a video but I got video material. I just have to find the time to edit it. I love to make videos and I hope to make a come back soon. Have an amazing Saturday Chris.
With the money invested in the chain saw mill, do you think a bandsaw mill would be better?🇨🇦
I would love to have a bandsaw mill, they are superior. But I got a really good price on my mill and I couldn't afford one at the time.
You make great videos! Thanks. I see you haven't made any videos for 2 years. Will you make anymore?
Hi there and thanks for watching. I will make more videos. The last 2 years a lot happened. I have not been able to make videos, that I love to do. But I will get back to that as soon as I can. Have an amazing weekend.
You mean there is no cooking?

Hej från Värmland (Y)
I'm sorry, but the idea of a chainsaw mill is that you can easily take it to your tree, fell the tree, and make boards on the spot, no tractor needed to move the trees. If you're going to make something this size I'd really suggest a Swing Blade mill. You will save in effort, time, blade cost, and material loss due to blade thickness.
Thats a lot of panels. I think using an almost vertical orientation will get you better results in the winter and solve the snow problem. Since you have over capacity in summer losing 30% or more in summer wont be a big problem. The ideal angle for our house in winter is 82 degrees, so almost vertical. This is in Norway so the best solution was put them on the side of the house.
I thought the panels would still produce energy without sun. So let's say if you have light, but no sun (a raining day for example) would still produce energy? Even if just 20% or something. Thank you for the video.
Hi Andreas, Yes it will produce some energy even if it's not direct sunlight. Have an amazing weekend and thanks for watching.
Sweden is the type of country where you could live in a small wooden cabin 100km from nearest civilization and still get fiber internet.
Yea, it's amazing. Have an awesome weekend and thanks for watching.
I'll be using this stove for the first time tomorrow. Thankyou for the clear and concise video I feel relaxed already. Happy travels ✌️
Thank you very much and thanks for watching. Have an amazing weekend Allan.
I made yesterday the jam and it is delicious, superb! Many thanks for the recipe!
You are very welcome and thanks for watching. Have an amazing week.
That stove $ light is on my shopping list when i start putting my hiking & camping kit together. Gerard. New South Wales Australia.
Would have been way more informative if you had actually cooked something. Boiling water is no big deal.
Thank you very much for watching. Its much more easy to compare boiling water then cooking a beef stue on different stoves. Yes it could have been more entertaining if I prepared a meal from scratch, but that wasn't the goal of this video. Have an amazing week man.
Hey my Nordic brother, nice and clean setup you have! I like the jig along with all of the other metal work you made for the device to work optimal! Loved every second of it! Best regards from New York!

What caind offgrid it is if you have electricity? Did you have generator?
Thank you very much for watching. If you watch some more of the videos you will have that answer. Have an amazing Tuesday Janus.
